My prediction for Superbowl XL:

Seahawks 27 - Steelers 21

No good reason for the prediction: I’m just a homer who desperately hopes that the Seahawks are legitimate contenders. Heck, I didn’t even get any further than week 6 in my fantasy pool this year before giving up any hope of predicting football performances.

Give me a truly memorable sound bite

Yet, what I really want to see this Superbowl is a revamping of the once mandatory “I’m going to Disneyland” post-game statement from the winning team’s MVP. Seriously, let’s liven up celebratory remarks with something truly enthusiastic such as “I’m happier than Richard Gere in a gerbil shop!” After all, Matt Hasselbeck certainly has the track record to deliver a line like that. In fact, we should even let the losing team get in a memorable one-liner: Joey Porter is in the peculiar position of being experienced enough to be able to describe defeat to be exactly like a “shot in the ass.”

So put your thinking caps on Seahawks and Steelers and give me something with enough verbal zing to make me feel like watching until the end of the game wasn’t a complete waste of time.
