For Manchester United, the night held a gritty, business as usual, european performance until Francisco Costinha's 89th minute goal barred United from entering the Champion's League quarter-finals for the first time in eight years.
Earlier on, Paul Scholes combined with John O'Shea to provide a lovely goal that would have sent the Red Devils into the next round. But that 32nd minute header is a horribly distant memory now. Sure, Porto's forwards are olympic class divers, but what does that matter when all that counts now is a 3-1 aggregate result in Porto's favour?
That's it. The only competition United are now still in the running for is the FA Cup.
