Apparently the NDP has broken new ground by becoming the first federal party to release a televised campaign ad aimed at minority voters:

The New Democratic Party has unveiled its latest TV commercial, this one directed at Chinese-Canadian voters.

It’ll be the same face, but a different language.

A new ad supporting Jack Layton and the NDP has been unveiled and it’s all in mandarin and Cantonese.

BC NDP Campaign Manager Gerry Scott says the message behind the ad repeats something they’ve been hearing from many Chinese-Canadian households, that the NDP is a viable third option. — CKNW

Interesting move. I’d love to learn how they translated “your marginal but scrappy choice” for a variety of languages.
