Quip
If you are ever caught red-handed for plagiarizing, your best option may just be to dispute the transgression in spite of the evidence arrayed against you. It's better to deny everything outright like Bill Clinton than the tact choosen by Angele Yanor.
According to the CBC, Yanor, now a former columnist for the Vancouver Sun, indirectly addressed her cribbing of a New York Times' article by replying, "what about the hundreds of print journalists who re-write wire copy under tight deadlines?"
Oi. No wonder she needed to plagiarize.
Oh, and by the way, Yanor's latest attempt to address plagiarism via her website won't help her position much either:
bq. I have never called myself a journalist. I write chick lit. My articles have always had an element of fiction.
Oi again.
